Connecting to a backup power generator
I am trying to gather information from the output of a 165 kVA backup power generator that starts automatically when there is a power failure. This is to see, for example, when the generator started and stopped and how much power was produced.
What is the best way to set this up ? If I just connect the counter to the lines, it will only be active when there is a power failure, but it would make more sense if it is visible at all times. Is there a way to do this ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The easiest way is to connect the energy monitor D103 to the generator line.
It will only work when the generator is running.
I understand. But my hope was that there is a way to see the monitor in the dashboard even when the power generator is not running.
I was thinking of something like in the image below. The monitor is currently connected is shown in option A, like you suggested. Is option B possible ? Would that work ?
Thanks
Yes, it will work with option B also.
And yes, with the option B you will see the monitor in the dashboard even when the power generator is not running.
